Nice to meet ya, I’m Nick Lawler.

I’m a Senior Art Director living in Kalamazoo Michigan and have been working in the design and marketing world since 2017. My origin story takes place in Boulder Colorado as a printmaker, carving wood blocks, mixing ink, the works. It was this experience that taught me the importance of intent and action in my work. I carried this experience over when I switched to graphic design in marketing later in my college career. Since college I have worked on a variety of projects, mediums, and clients; all which paved the way for my current love of Art Direction.

In my time as an Art Director, I have curated and designed brand logos, created brand guidelines, directed website designs, made email templates, designed a multitude of sales and marketing materials, and more. My strengths are in my communication, collaboration, and storytelling; I believe we are only as good as the team we are on and that a strong team produces the best work.

In my free time I continue to strive to be creative, working weekends making logo designs, posters, seeking out tutorials, and even try my hand at creative story telling through Dungeons and Dragons. If that last one made you think “nerd” I wear that with honor, and nothing makes me happier than talking about special interests and what makes people passionate - especially the fantastical and whimsical that can only come from creative and imaginative minds.
